Entry Two | The Story I Almost Never Told

Dear Friend,

After writing my first diary entry, I found myself thinking about something I have carried quietly for a very long time. There was a season when I convinced myself that some parts of my life were meant to stay private.

Not because I was ashamed of them.

But because they were deeply personal.

Some experiences shape us in ways that are difficult to explain. They become part of who we are, tucked away in the quiet places of our hearts. We learn from them, we grow through them, and eventually we make peace with them. Or at least, we think we do.

When the idea of writing Positive Lane first came to me, I did not immediately feel excitement. I felt resistance. Because writing this book meant opening doors I had carefully closed.

It meant revisiting memories that had changed me.

It meant allowing people to see not only the woman I am today, but also the woman I once was.

And if I am honest, that felt incredibly vulnerable. I remember sitting with my journal one afternoon, asking myself a simple question: "Is my story really meant to be shared?" For a long time, I did not have an answer.

I wondered whether anyone would understand.

I wondered whether people would see the heart behind my words.

Mostly, I wondered whether sharing something so personal would change how people saw me.

Fear has a quiet voice. It does not shout. It simply whispers reasons to stay where it is safe.

For a while, I listened. But deep inside, another voice never stopped whispering too.

It was gentler. Calmer. And it asked just one question: "What if your story becomes someone else's hope?" That question stayed with me.

It did not rush me.

It did not pressure me.

It simply waited until my heart was ready to answer. Looking back now, I realise that courage isn't found in the absence of fear. It is found in choosing purpose over fear.

That is when I understood something I will never forget. Our stories were never given to us to carry.

Sometimes, they are given to us so that, when the time is right, they can become a light for someone else.

Perhaps that's why you are reading these words today. Not because my journey is unique.

But because somewhere, in all our different stories, we understand what it feels like to hope, to question, to heal, and to begin again.

If these diary entries remind even one person that their story still has purpose, then opening my heart will have been one of the most meaningful decisions I have ever made.

Thank you for allowing me to share another page of my journey with you.

It truly means more than you know.

💚 From My Heart

I have learned that we do not have to share our stories because they are perfect. We share them because they are real. And sometimes it is our most honest moments, not our strongest ones, that help someone else find the courage to keep going.

Until next time… thank you for walking this lane with me.

With gratitude,

Leshma
